The European Data Protection Board (EDPB) is an independent European body whose mission is to ensure the consistent application of data protection rules and principles throughout the European Economic Area.
The EDPB is composed of :
- representatives of the EU's national data protection authorities, and
- and the European Data Protection Supervisor.
He may adopt general guidance documents in order to clarify the provisions of European data protection legislation and, in this way, provide stakeholders with a consistent interpretation of their rights and obligations.
It may adopt opinions to ensure the consistent application of the GDPR, and binding decisions to settle disputes between supervisory authorities referred to it.
