We are delighted to unveil version 1.7 of Dastra, a major update that introduces a variety of new features and innovations, providing you with powerful tools to better manage your GDPR compliance.

Two highly anticipated modules are making their debut in Dastra with this version 1.7:

πŸ“„ Custom Reporting

Bring your data to life with our brand-new Custom Reporting module. Create tailored reports that perfectly match your needs with just a few clicks. Customization is now in your hands, with the ability to cross-reference data from different modules (processing registry, scheduling, etc.), allowing you to make informed decisions and remain in complete control.

πŸ” Privacy Hubs

As a sub-feature of our Questionnaires module, the Privacy Hubs module allows you to create and customize dedicated online spaces for sharing questionnaires. Easily collect responses without requiring a Dastra user account. Moreover, with specifically developed questionnaire templates, quickly transform these responses into drafts for data processing and breach notifications. All of this is directly accessible within your Dastra application.

Ready to explore the new possibilities? Dive into the details below to discover all the exciting features of this version 1.7, available today.

New Modules

Custom Reports

With the brand-new Custom Reports feature, we provide an exceptional level of flexibility and control over the analysis of your data.

Organize your reports intuitively by categorizing them, ensuring efficient management of your information.

Create tailored reports (or use one of Dastra's provided templates) by selecting relevant data tables. Then, construct your custom report using metrics and dimensions available in these tables. Further customize your analysis by sorting the report based on one of the metrics or dimensions and apply powerful filters based on specific query conditions.

Take advantage of automation to automatically generate various types of charts with your report results, providing a clear and impactful visualization of your data.

The export function allows you to save your analysis in various ways: export all report data in multiple formats while saving charts for future reference.

Please note that you need an enterprise subscription to access this advanced feature.

Privacy Hubs

Privacy Hubs are an advanced feature of the Questionnaires module. Please note that this new feature requires the presence of the Questionnaires module in your subscription to access it.

1.jpgPrivacy Hubs Module

With this new module, you can create and customize online spaces (a web page provided and hosted by Dastra) dedicated to collecting responses to questionnaires.

3.pngCreate a Privacy Hub

During the configuration of your Privacy Hub, select one or more questionnaire templates to share. Once you have published the hub, these templates are accessible to anyone with the URL of the Privacy Hub (for security reasons, you can set up IP filtering to determine who can access the hub's URL).

8.pngSelect questionnaires to add to your hub

Visitors can choose a questionnaire from the list, answer it by simply providing a name and an email (without the need to create a Dastra user account). Their responses, labeled as "collected via a Privacy Hub," are directly available for review and validation in your Dastra workspace.

We have developed two new types of questionnaire templates (downloadable from the template library) that you can add to your hubs:

  • Data Processing Project Collection Questionnaire
  • Data Breach Project Collection Questionnaire

The questions in these templates aim to cover all the information required to document data processing or data breaches in Dastra. When you collect a response to these specific questionnaires, an additional option (compared to other types of questionnaires) will be available to transform the response directly into data processing or data breach. Before transformation, you can make edits to the provided responses.

This feature is particularly useful when you want to involve your collaborators or subcontractors in updating your processing/breach register without granting them full access to the Dastra application. This is ideal for avoiding complex platform access rights management and user proliferation. You also won't need to train your collaborators on the Dastra platform, simplifying the collaboration process and enhancing your data security.

Note that for the creation of data processing/data breach via Privacy Hubs, the use of templates provided by Dastra is mandatory. However, you are free to share any questionnaire templates of your choice in your hubs for standard response collection.

Based on usage and customer feedback, we may develop other types of templates allowing for the automatic creation of different objects in Dastra.

Hubs can be customized with your company's colors by integrating a background image, logo, and title. You also have a rich text area that supports text, images, links, videos, etc. This allows you to share crucial information and instructions with hub visitors in a visually engaging manner.

New Features

Multi-Owners in Data Processing

You can now specify multiple owners in a data processing record. For each owner created in this way, you can specify whether they are a validating/performing/informed owner (inspired by the RACI project management matrix).

You can use this role-specific information in automated workflows to trigger specific actions based on the owners' roles.

Note that all existing owners of your data processing records have been maintained as validating owners.

Data Retention Policy Generation

We offer the ability to export a data retention policy from your processing register.

This export type provides a detailed breakdown of all your datasets and associated retention periods.
