According to Article 3(11) of the Artificial Intelligence Act (AIA), “putting into service” means the supply of an AI system for first use, directly to the deployer or for its own use within the Union, in accordance with the intended purpose of the AI system.
Therefore, this concept should be understood as the AI system being put into operation in a use environment.
