Art. 6(1)(e) UK GDPR - Local Authorities' Cemeteries Order 1977, art. 11: the burial authority must maintain a register of all burials. Data on deceased persons are outside the scope of the UK GDPR, but data on relatives and right holders are not.

Until the exclusive right of burial expires (grant for a period not exceeding 100 years, which may be extended: Local Authorities' Cemeteries Order 1977, art. 10). The statutory register of burials (art. 11) and register of grants of rights are not subject to a destruction period and are preserved under the authority's records arrangements (Local Government Act 1972, s.224).
